He previously served as a senior advisor to American Industrial Partners from 1991 to 1996, and from 1986 to 1990 invested in and managed manufacturing companies, including leading the buyout of Litton Industries' Itek Graphix division in 1986. Earlier, from 1970 to 1986, he held senior management roles at Litton Industries, and he holds degrees from Stanford University, the University of Manchester, and Northwestern University.
