Mark Ong is GIC's Chief Investment Officer for Public Equities, appointed in April 2024, overseeing the firm's global public equities portfolios across developed and emerging markets. He began his career at GIC in 1996 in the Bond Department, later becoming Head of Global Credit before founding Barker Investment Management, where he was CIO and Managing Partner. He rejoined GIC in 2012 as an equity portfolio manager, became Head of Asia Pacific Equities in 2015, and co-led GIC's Technology Business Group from 2017 to 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore, is a CFA charterholder, and completed the Stanford Executive Program in 2019.
