About
Choo Yong Cheen has served as GIC's Chief Investment Officer for Private Equity since July 2016, overseeing a portfolio spanning buyouts, minority growth, pre-IPOs, venture capital, private credit, and special situations. He joined GIC in 1996 in the Economics & Strategy Department, moved to Equities in 2002 to manage an Asia regional portfolio with a China focus, and later ran GIC's private equity businesses in Asia and Europe. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics and completed the Senior Executive Programme at London Business School.
