About
Dr. Johann "Hansi" Hansmann is an Austrian business angel and former pharmaceutical executive who exited his own pharma company in Spain in 2003 and has since led over 100 direct investments across European early-stage companies. He served as President of the Austrian Angel Investors Association until 2021 and received a lifetime achievement award for his contributions to the startup ecosystem. Through the Hansmann Family Office based in Vienna, he maintains stakes in more than 50 active companies and over 20 venture capital funds, with a portfolio including notable exits such as Runtastic, Shpock, MySugr, and Busuu, while also engaging in philanthropic initiatives focused on entrepreneurship, climate change, and gender equality.
