Dustin J. Tyler, Ph.D., is Co-Founder and CTO of Afference, Inc., and holds the Arthur S. Holden Professorship in Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, where he also directs the Human Fusions Institute and serves as a principal investigator at the Louis-Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans' Affairs Medical Center. His work focuses on neural interfaces between humans and technology, including clinical trials of Class III medical devices, pre-clinical studies in mammalian models, and computational neuroscience, supported by more than $40M in funding from the VA, NIH, NSF, and DARPA. He was elected a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors in 2022, inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering in 2017, and holds more than 30 active US and international patents.
