Investment thesis
UNSW presents an investment and licensing marketplace built around ventures and technologies that originate from the university's research. Over the past decade it has founded or invested in more than 190 companies, which have collectively attracted US$5.6 billion in capital, and since 2017 its accelerator UNSW Founders has backed 163 early-stage startups. The portfolio emphasises deep-science ventures across clean energy, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, medical technology, precision medicine, and defence and dual-use applications, all supported by industry partnerships. The initiative connects investors and venture builders with the university's entrepreneurial researchers and commercialisation opportunities.
