Siemens Energy Ventures backs climate-tech startups with transformative founding teams, technologies, and business models addressing future energy demands across the entire energy value chain. It seeks more sustainable, affordable, and reliable ways to generate, transport, store, and convert energy. The firm operates through two approaches: venture clienting, acting as an early corporate customer to test and adopt startup solutions for internal business challenges; and venture capital, investing as a strategic growth partner. Current investment themes span multi-day energy storage, energy management and forecasting, grid technologies for volatile energy, power-to-x and CO2 electrolysis, digital twins for decarbonized operation, and low-carbon industrial heat such as heat pumps and waste heat recovery.
