Investment thesis
Front Ventures aims to bridge Ukrainian military innovations with Western capital, production capacity, and military demand. It combines early investments in Ukrainian defense tech companies with scaling and manufacturing in Western Europe, arguing that Ukrainian product development is cost-effective and battle-tested while Europe offers lower capital costs, available production capacity, and acute demand. The firm focuses on areas such as UAV control systems, target acquisition, command software, manufacturing and autonomous defense systems, secure defense communications, and counter-drone and electronic countermeasures. It sees a major opportunity as EU defense spending rises and the bloc targets increasing domestic defense procurement from 22% (2022) to 50% (2030).
