Investment thesis
BPE pursues an Egypt-focused private equity strategy, using the local market knowledge, operating experience, and business networks of its team to source exclusive, proprietary opportunities in well-managed Egyptian companies. Founded Beltone Financial in 2002 and co-founded BPE Partners in 2006, and was earlier a co-founder of the firm that became EFG Hermes. He chairs Basata E-Payments and Basata Finance and holds degrees from Cairo University, Wharton, and the University of Pennsylvania.
Co-founded BPE Partners in 2006 to invest in domestic businesses with growth potential, and chairs BPE Partners and B Investments while serving on its investment committee. He holds board roles at Madinet Masr and several portfolio companies, and previously co-founded Miraco-Carrier and Engineering Plastic Manufacturing. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the New York Institute of Technology.
