Investment thesis
Barayamal exists to grow First Nations entrepreneurship in Australia and hold surrounding institutions accountable. Founded on Indigenous community values in 2016, it runs a range of programs including a First Nations pre-accelerator for NSW-connected founders, an Indigenous job board, an eMentoring platform, free business courses, community reviews of organisations claiming Reconciliation commitments, transparency (FOI) tracking, and the 3% Pledge campaign asking super funds, banks and VCs to commit 3% to First Nations prosperity. It operates as a charity focused on Indigenous community development rather than a conventional investment fund.
