Ajeej Capital

Tarek Sakka co-founded Ajeej Capital in 2007 and serves as its CEO, chairing the executive committee and sitting on all investment committees. He previously served as Group Vice President at The Olayan Group managing regional private investments, was Head of Private Equity at National Commercial Bank (now SNB), and worked with ENRON Capital in Houston and Texaco in Delaware. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals.

Ambereen Jiwani joined Ajeej Capital in 2017 as an Associate Director, where she conducts fundamental research to support stock selection. Her coverage focuses on MENA banks and real estate as well as macroeconomic analysis of the UAE. She is a CFA charterholder and contributes to the firm's training and development of junior analysts.

Anas Kassem has been with Ajeej Capital since 2007 and serves on its executive committee. He leads strategy and business development, heads investor relations and reporting, and co-heads trading for Ajeej Public Equities. He also sits on the investment committee of Cabrit, Ajeej's venture capital arm.

Chad Quisenberry has been at Ajeej Capital since 2008, where he serves as Portfolio Manager for the firm's public equity funds. He sits on both the executive and investment committees, handling performance attribution and risk analytics across Ajeej's equity strategies. He has over 15 years of experience in asset management, focused on emerging and frontier markets.

David Rothon is CEO of Ajeej Capital (AD) Limited, the public debt business of Ajeej Capital. He co-founded AD Global Investors in 2018, which Ajeej Capital acquired in 2025, and previously served as Head of Asset Management at First Abu Dhabi Bank. With more than 25 years in asset management at firms including Barclays Global Investors (BlackRock), PIMCO, Northern Trust Asset Management, and Colchester Global Investors, he focuses on emerging market debt, sukuk, and fixed income. He also chairs the Middle East Investment Management Association.

Frances Ames joined Ajeej Capital in 2008 and leads the firm's research function as Head of Research, overseeing valuation methodologies, macroeconomic analysis, and the training of analysts. She serves on the firm's executive and investment committees and focuses on developing research talent. She has an academic and professional background in finance.

Hussein Wehbi has worked at Ajeej Capital since 2007 as an Associate Director on the equities team, contributing to the firm's public equity investment strategies across multiple sectors. He is a CFA charterholder whose work spans research and risk assessment, and he has experience navigating MENA market cycles including the global financial crisis and oil price fluctuations.

Ian Clarke is Co-CIO of Ajeej Capital (AD) Limited, the public debt arm of Ajeej Capital, where he leads investment strategy across Global Sukuk, MENA Fixed Income, and Emerging Market Debt Local Currency. He co-founded AD Global Investors in 2018, which Ajeej Capital acquired in 2025. His prior fixed income roles include positions at First Abu Dhabi Bank, Lombard Odier, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.

Idrissa Boly is Co-CIO of Ajeej Capital (AD) Limited, the firm's public debt business, where he leads investment strategy for Global Sukuk, MENA Fixed Income, and Emerging Market Debt Local Currency. He co-founded AD Global Investors in October 2018, which was acquired by Ajeej Capital in August 2025. He previously worked as an economic advisor in Burkina Faso and held investment roles at Colchester Global Investors, Duke University's asset management company, and First Abu Dhabi Bank, and is a Fulbright scholar.

Nafez Al Abbas has worked at Ajeej Capital since 2007 as Associate Director of Research, focusing on the Saudi market across a range of sectors. His work centers on public MENA equities research, and he also helps train and mentor junior analysts and interns within the research team.

Najeeb Ahmad has been with Ajeej Capital since it was founded in 2007 and serves as Compliance Officer and MLRO, reporting to the Board of Directors of Ajeej Capital (DIFC) Limited. As a member of the executive committee, he oversees the firm's compliance and anti-money-laundering functions and its adherence to regulatory standards.

Omar Kalouti leads Cabrit, the venture capital arm of Ajeej, where he concentrates on early-stage technology and blockchain investments. He has a background in investment and entrepreneurship and maintains a network of innovators and investors.

Sharaf Sharaf joined Ajeej Capital in 2022 as Director and Head of Credit, where he leads the firm's private debt strategy under Ajeej Private Debt (Amplify) and oversees origination, deal evaluation, and portfolio management. He has about two decades of experience in debt and equity investing, previously serving as co-head of Gulf Capital's $220 million credit fund and as a founding team member of NBK Capital's mezzanine debt fund. He holds a JD/MBA from the University of San Diego and a BA from the University of Virginia, is an inactive member of the California Bar Association, and is a founding member of Dubai Angel Investors.

Ahmad Jaouni joined Ajeej in 2022 and works within Cabrit, the firm's venture capital arm. He sources and analyzes direct investment opportunities in early-stage technology startups, focusing on blockchain and emerging technologies.

Ahmed Abdelrahman joined Ajeej Capital in 2018, where he covers banking and financial services with a focus on Kuwait, Qatar, and Egypt, as well as the fintech and data sciences space. His research supports stock selection and contributes macroeconomic insights for the broader team. He is a CFA charterholder.

Careen Bulawan joined Ajeej Capital in 2021, where she manages the firm's day-to-day office operations and supports its leadership team. She also helps coordinate the firm's CSR initiatives, charitable activities, and community engagement.

Femina Baker joined Ajeej Capital in 2012 and leads the firm's finance and operations functions. A certified public accountant, she works on the compliance team, manages accounting for Ajeej's funds and managed accounts, and serves as the main point of contact with brokers, administrators, and custodians.

Kisan Patel joined Ajeej Private Debt in 2024 and has over five years of experience originating, underwriting, and monitoring investments in UK SMEs and startups across senior secured debt and equity. He previously worked at Shawbrook Bank and Shard Credit Partners. He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Bath and is both a CFA and CAIA charterholder, focusing on structuring debt solutions to support the expansion of Amplify's portfolio.

Mohammed (Mo) Al Talib joined Ajeej Capital in 2021, where he covers consumer sectors such as retail, staples, and discretionary, along with IT names. He maintains the firm's Saudi macroeconomic database, tracking demographics, population dynamics, and spending trends. He is currently studying for CFA Level 2.

Omar Hafez joined Ajeej Capital in 2023 as a Senior Associate on the credit team, supporting the firm's private debt investments. He works on sourcing opportunities, conducting due diligence, and monitoring portfolio performance, drawing on a background in structured finance and corporate lending along with earlier roles in financial advisory and credit analysis. He focuses on helping technology-driven businesses access flexible, minimally dilutive capital to scale.

Selim Afifi joined Ajeej Capital in 2021 and works on managing and growing the firm's institutional investor base. His role covers investor engagement, capital-raising across Ajeej's platforms, and contributing to equity research in areas including education services, serving as a link between clients and the investment teams.
