Africa Climate Ventures

James leads strategy, transactions, and operations at ACV. He previously co-founded Dalberg Advisors and its Africa business, serving as Global Managing Partner and later Executive Director, and founded the Climate Action Platform for Africa. He is an early investor and board member of Koko Networks and holds an economics degree from Harvard.

Serves as Chief Investment Officer at Africa Climate Ventures and speaks to the firm's view on the opportunity for green growth in Africa.

Kemi drives fundraising, investment strategy, and portfolio value creation at ACV. She was previously an Investment Manager at Alitheia Capital leading the West Africa team for the uMunthu funds, bringing over a decade of experience in private equity, venture capital, and banking.

Scott identifies, screens, and builds new venture opportunities in ACV's venture studio. He was previously a Senior Project Manager at Dalberg advising on climate issues and holds a Master's in Applied Economics from the University of Cape Town.

Bilha focuses on building innovative African industries and platforms. She co-founded Jacob's Ladder Africa, was CEO of the African Leadership Academy and Africa's Talking, and holds an Electrical Engineering degree from MIT.

Doreen was ACV's first Venture Partner, focused on building KOKO Networks Rwanda and now a member of its executive team. She previously consulted at Dalberg Advisors and founded KivuCold, holding an MSc in Global Logistics from Arizona State University.

Jermaine is a secondee to ACV from Dalberg Advisors, responsible for fundraising materials, valuation models, and supporting African ventures. He graduated from Strathmore University with a BSc in Finance and is a CFA Level 2 candidate.
