Investment thesis
400 Capital Management pursues high absolute returns with low volatility and low correlation to traditional fixed income and equity markets. Its investment process is designed to perform throughout the credit cycle using active sector rotation and long/short themes driven by fundamental, quantitative and economic research. The firm invests across residential and commercial mortgage loans and securities (RMBS/CMBS), consumer and esoteric asset-backed loans and securities (ABS), and corporate debt and loans including CLOs, plus related performing and distressed portfolios in the U.S. and Europe. Portfolios may employ interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, indices, futures and options to hedge interest rate, credit and volatility risks. Its mission is to be the leading solution for institutional investors accessing asset-based credit markets.
