Terra API

Terra API is a health and fitness data platform that gives developers one integration point for accessing data from wearables, health apps, medical devices, sensors and blood testing providers. A single API call returns standardised data from more than 500 sources, including Garmin, Fitbit, Apple Health, Google Fit, Oura, WHOOP, Polar, Eight Sleep, Strava, Withings, Samsung Health, Cronometer, MyFitnessPal, Suunto and Wahoo, removing the need for developers to build separate authentication flows and data parsers per provider.

The platform covers more than 5,000 standardised metrics spanning activity and workouts, granular sleep stages and latency, nutrition, heart rate, HRV, VO2max, blood oxygen (SpO2), continuous glucose monitoring, menstrual cycle and body composition. Beyond raw data access, Terra provides derived health scores (recovery, strain, stress and immunity, calibrated against individual user baselines), a no-code rewards and streaks system, and a blood labs offering that includes at-home test kits, on-demand phlebotomy and delivery of lab results into the customer's app.

Developer-facing features include an embeddable, brand-customisable authentication widget that handles OAuth and token refresh, a WebSocket streaming API for real-time sensor data such as beat-by-beat heart rate, mobile SDKs (JavaScript, Python, iOS, Android), webhook delivery of normalised JSON, data deduplication, backfills, a data simulator, workout plans, team sports support, destinations, and FIT file and FHIR support. Terra states it is HIPAA compliant, GDPR compliant and SOC 2 Type II certified, with data encrypted in transit and at rest.
