Alumni Q&A
- How did your company get started? (i.e., How did the founders meet? How did you come up with the idea? How did you decide to be a founder?)
- The founder started Rocketable after buying a small B2C SaaS business and running it solo for a year. Unable to afford human staff, he handled every function himself and relied heavily on LLMs throughout that period.
- What's the history of your company from getting started until the present day? What were the big inflection points?
- Running a small software product let the founder fit an entire business's context—source code, knowledge base articles, blog posts, internal docs, support histories, and NPS results—within a single model's context window, which he found produced better results with less effort than enterprise AI tools that had raised hundreds of millions. This led him to structure Rocketable as a holding company operating many smaller software businesses rather than a single scaled product.
- What is the core problem you are solving? Why is this a big problem? What made you decide to work on it?
- The founder found existing AI products inadequate for operating his acquired business, since they stayed limited to copilot-style assistance rather than full automation. After building his own tools that reached higher performance with less effort, he started Rocketable.
- What is your long-term vision? If you truly succeed, what will be different about the world?
- The founder's long-term goal is to treat running a software business as a reinforcement learning problem, testing many variations of content and features in parallel as creation costs drop and tying AI workflow outputs to financial metrics. Winning strategies would be deployed automatically via pull request, aiming for business strategies that only AI can discover.
