Portal Fantasy

Portal Fantasy is a pixel-art role-playing game in which players collect creatures called Porbles, use them in turn-based battles, explore platforming environments, solve puzzles and complete quests across the Pyli Kingdom. The game is credited to Portal Fantasy as both developer and publisher and was released on Steam on 16 April 2025, categorised under Adventure, Casual, Indie, RPG and Strategy. It supports single-player play, includes 44 Steam achievements, and offers interfaces and audio in six languages including English, Japanese, Brazilian and European Portuguese, and Latin American and European Spanish.

Core systems include collecting and fusing Porbles with gathered ingredients to alter their skills, appearance and "Majesty" levels; turn-based combat built around creature passives, team composition and momentum management; character appearance customisation with an expanding wardrobe of outfits; and platforming hazards such as moving platforms, voids, spikes, saws, turrets and teleporters. The narrative is set 1,000 years after the War of the Goddesses, following a novice at the Porble Academy in the capital city Valeria who uncovers mysterious organisations, corrupted Porbles and a darker history of the kingdom. The game is playable offline, though some features such as redeeming referral codes, painting Porbles and planned PvP require online verification with the developer's servers.

Earlier public descriptions of the project positioned it as a browser-based, community-run play-to-earn pixel RPG intended for launch on the Avalanche blockchain, with Porbles as NFT assets, a $PFT membership token capped at one billion units and an off-chain in-game currency called ORB. That design distinguished two player roles: Heroes, who explore worlds and complete quests, and Architects, who build worlds and quests with an in-built map editor and are rewarded according to the exposure their content receives.

Business model

The game is distributed through Steam as a paid title with additional paid content, including a soundtrack DLC and a cosmetic Porble Cosplay Pack, and is offered in bundles combining the base game with the soundtrack and with third-party titles. Marketing materials on the company's links page describe the game as free to play.

Revenue sources indicated by the Steam storefront are sales of the base game, downloadable content such as the Original Soundtrack and the Starter Porble Cosplay Pack, and bundled packages.

Following its 16 April 2025 Steam release, the game had accumulated 210 user reviews with a 62% positive rate (Mixed), and had released two pieces of downloadable content plus a roadmap and update history on its store page.
