Northflank

Northflank operates a runtime and developer platform that lets engineering teams build, deploy and run containerized workloads, databases, scheduled jobs, services, inference endpoints and AI agents. The platform positions itself as a path from code to production, covering CI/CD pipelines, preview, staging and production environments, secrets and configuration management, reusable templates, observability tooling, backups, restores and rollbacks, and secure multi-tenancy. Users can interact through a UI, CLI, APIs or GitOps workflows, and connect Git providers including GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket to trigger builds and deployments.

The product uses Kubernetes as its underlying operating system. Workloads can run on Northflank's own managed cloud or on customer-owned infrastructure via bring-your-own-cloud, including AWS (EKS), Google Cloud (GKE), Microsoft Azure (AKS), Oracle (OKE), Civo, CoreWeave (CKS) and Nebius, as well as imported Kubernetes clusters, on-premises and bare-metal environments; Rancher, OpenShift and Tanzu are also listed as supported. Customers can deploy inside their own VPC and retain control over data residency, regions and cloud spend.

A significant part of the current positioning targets AI-native engineering teams: deploying and scaling open-source models, serving inference, running fractional and multi-cloud GPU workloads, secure execution of untrusted or AI-generated code, microVM-based sandboxes, long-running agents (MCP, RAG, TTS, image, video, voice), vector databases such as pgvector, Jupyter notebooks, spot instances, custom autoscaling and fast multi-read-write storage.

Business model

Northflank sells access to a managed platform that runs application and AI workloads either on Northflank's own cloud or on infrastructure the customer owns (bring-your-own-cloud, VPC, or on premises). A free entry tier and a sales-assisted demo path are both offered.

Traction

Since 2019 teams have used the platform for workloads from single containers to high-scale AI infrastructure. Reported figures include millions of containers, 130B+ requests processed, 100k+ developers in production, 2,000+ customers and 330+ availability zones. Weights states it scaled to over 3M users with a two-person engineering team while running 10,000 AI training jobs and about half a million inference runs per day on Northflank; Sentry describes it as a go-to way to deploy workloads.
