Mason

Mason offers an end-to-end platform for developing and delivering dedicated smart devices. The offering combines four layers: purpose-built hardware in multiple form factors (wearables, handhelds, tablets, and historically screens up to 55 inches); MasonOS, a customizable Android-based operating system stripped of consumer software bloat; device fleet management software with remote access and control, real-time monitoring, over-the-air updates and fleet health insights, backed by APIs; and operations and logistics services covering warehousing, kitting, shipping, white labeling, provisioning, global certifications and multi-carrier connectivity [0][1][3][4].

Customers access the platform three ways: a browser-based dashboard called the Controller, a command-line interface, and RESTful web APIs. Developers can sign up for a free account and order a Developer Kit that bundles a Mason device with platform services and developer tools. Devices can be organized into groups so that OS and app updates can be partitioned and rolled out incrementally; applications can be bundled and versioned with the OS or deployed independently [3].
