Hyre

Hyre is a digital HR platform for shift-based workforces that combines workforce management software with an on-demand temp staffing marketplace. Employers use it to build and publish weekly schedules across multiple locations, assign shifts or let staff self-select them, track clock-in and clock-out times digitally, finalize timesheets, and process payroll. Additional modules cover department and facility-level org structure customization, team communication through a built-in chat, time-off and availability management, and granular user permissions controlling what each staff member can see and do.

A second side of the product serves staffing agencies, which receive client staffing orders in one place, accept or decline them, assign their own workforce to fill them, review timesheets and issue client invoices. A third side is a job-seeker marketplace where gig and temp workers join for free, filter shift opportunities by hourly wage, location and job type, set their availability, switch shifts and pick up work. Hyre originated as an event staffing marketplace connecting bartenders, servers and similar staff directly with event venues, caterers and event planners as an alternative to traditional event staffing agencies, and has extended into healthcare, hospitality, restaurants and event security. The company describes itself as the first employee shift scheduling and staff management tool to integrate a temp staffing module, and states that temp staff in its pool go through a vetting and onboarding process.

Hyre operates a cloud-based SaaS platform alongside a two-sided staffing marketplace. Scheduling and workforce management tools are sold on a per-user, per-month subscription following a free trial. Employers can sign up for the temp staffing marketplace at no cost and pay no platform fee to publish shifts, paying instead the wages of the temp staff they hire; workers join and use the platform for free. The company also says it earns a transaction fee on temp staffing that it positions as smaller than typical staffing agency margins. Demos and training are not charged for.
