Gild

Gild builds a workforce operating system aimed at the skilled trades and industrial service sectors. Its core product covers scheduling and dispatch, project management, time tracking, daily logs, materials management, and job costing in a single system. The platform is fronted by Forge, an operations console whose chat interface is connected to project data, worker data, and field activity so managers can dispatch crews, build schedules, track job costs, and manage projects from one conversation rather than across separate tools. Field workers interact without installing an app: they respond over SMS, with multilingual support in their preferred language, for tasks such as clocking in and out, submitting daily logs, and reporting materials used.

Architecturally, Gild describes three layers: a unified workforce graph linking worker profiles, skills, certifications, projects, schedules, and connected systems; field AI agents operating over voice and SMS for dispatch, daily logs, and time tracking; and an operational visibility layer covering capacity, costs, and constraints across projects and regions. Data is ingested from voice calls, SMS, forms, and integrations with ERP, payroll, and project management tools, and agents can take actions such as dispatching, scheduling, and reassigning workers.

Gild also operates a recruiting side of the business for the skilled trades, serving mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, solar, and welding contractors. It combines partnerships with local trade organizations, candidate vetting, and an AI recruiting agent called Alice that phones candidates, conducts screenings, and schedules interviews. A related apprenticeship program connects employers, trade schools, and job seekers, including placement-status tracking for schools and access to an employer network.

Business model

Gild sells software and recruiting services to employers in the trades and industrial sectors. The operating system is offered as a workspace that customers set up and configure by module, with onboarding through a guided tour or a scheduled call with the sales team; the recruiting offering is positioned against traditional agency placement on cost and speed.
