Founding story

EcoMap was founded by Pava LaPere at Johns Hopkins University, based on the premise that founders should be able to access the resources they need regardless of whom they know. The company was part of the portfolio of Conscious Venture Lab, a Baltimore accelerator for early-stage, purpose-driven startups.

In September 2026 EcoMap announced a partnership with Urban Inclusion Community as its commercial partner across Africa, extending its model outside the United States. Earlier in 2026, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce became the first organization to implement the newly launched Ecosystem Scorecard, BBB Greater Maryland debuted an AI-powered business intelligence suite built with EcoMap, and CEO Sherrod Davis was recognized as an MD500 recipient.
