CompanyCam provides a visual-first job site documentation and communication platform for contractors and home service businesses. Users capture unlimited photos and videos that are time- and location-stamped, uploaded to cloud storage, and organized by project and address, so field crews and office staff can see and share progress from anywhere. Founding story

The company grew out of White Castle Roofing, a Lincoln, Nebraska roofing business co-founded in the mid-1980s by Michael Hansen. His sons worked in the business — Dane as CEO, Jake as COO handling quality control, and Luke leading marketing and sales. The crew relied heavily on photos for liability, progress tracking, inspections, insurance claims and marketing, but had no way to organize them by time, date and address. After searching unsuccessfully for an existing app, Luke Hansen and the family decided to build their own, working with a local app development shop to prove the concept and testing it on their own roofing projects and with a local foundation repair partner. They recruited a developer, Chad, as employee number one, opened an office in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska, and expanded the product as White Castle employees and customers responded to instant photo documentation.

Customer-reported outcomes cited by the company include $50,000 in annual employee cost savings at Reliant Roofing and 36 hours saved per month at BK Restoration.

Latest developments

In August 2025 CompanyCam announced a Series C round led by B Capital with participation from Decades Holdings. In March 2026 it announced the acquisition of Beam Finance Inc., a startup offering AI estimating, payments, invoicing and other finance and operations tools for contractors; both companies will continue to operate, develop and sell their platforms independently for the time being. The company has also introduced Portfolio features and a Marketing Suite that converts captured job content into social, search and portfolio marketing assets.
