Founding story

BITE Data was founded in 2023 by Thariq Kara and Anne Riitho. Kara, the CEO, previously held a senior technical role at US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, while Riitho led supply chain investigations for US agencies; both bring backgrounds in global trade and customs enforcement to the product.

In November 2025 BITE Data announced the close of a $2.5m Series Seed round led by Las Olas Venture Capital, with participation from New Dominion Angels and Blue Impact Venture Capital, to grow its engineering and sales teams and further develop its AI-native compliance platform.
