Shinichi Saijo, born in Tokushima Prefecture in 1973, graduated from Waseda University's Faculty of Law in 1996 and began his career at Itochu Corporation before joining CyberAgent in 2000, where he later served as Executive Vice President and COO and led its venture investment arm as founding president in 2006. In 2013 he became a co-founder and general partner at WiL, and in 2018 he founded XTech and XTech Ventures, subsequently acquiring Excite through a tender offer and becoming President and CEO of Excite Holdings Co., Ltd. that December. He was appointed a board member of the Japan Venture Capital Association in 2022.
