He joined the firm in 1972 to establish its insurance services business, which was sold to Alliant Insurance Services in 2016, and has served on the Mesirow Board of Directors since 1987. He was appointed to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Council by President Barack Obama and to the Cook County Economic Advisory Council, and he serves on the boards of organizations including Northwestern Memorial Foundation, Navy Pier, Metropolitan Family Services, and Ravinia Festival.
