funnily, openai models have gone the opposite direction i used to never be able to understand wtf GPT-5.2 and GPT-5.3-Codex were saying i had claude translate gpt gibberish to me early this year now GPT models r much better to understand, while claudes r less legible

a fun theory is that it's an artifact of claudes now being RL'd for multi-agent/subagent orchestration and legibility is different for model <> model versus human <> model. like it's a glimpse into model to model neuralese https://t.co/dvW8hdXLSO

opus 4.6 is the last anthropic model that i had no problem reading the writing of quickly all of the models since, incl fable, are a lot less legible. for both coding and convo is it an RL artifact? what's causing it? i've seen this sentiment shared by friends
