He went on to serve as Chief Operating Officer of Western Wireless and its subsidiary VoiceStream, and became President of Western Wireless until its 2005 sale to Alltel. A founding partner at Trilogy Equity Partners, he is also an angel investor in the Seattle area and, since 2011, Chairman and CEO of the Tacoma Rainiers. He holds a business degree from Washington State University.
