Before joining Sofinnova in 2020, he was SVP and Chief Medical Officer of Ascendis Pharma, EVP of Research and Development at InterMune (where he led development and US approval of Esbriet for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis), and held CMO roles at KaloBios Pharmaceuticals and Halozyme Therapeutics, plus positions at Roche, Amgen, and Merck. He holds a B.A. in Chemistry and an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, and completed training in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado, Denver.
