He previously founded and led MetrixLab, a marketing technology company that merged with Japan's Macromill to form the Macromill Group, where he served as CEO until late 2015 and as board director until November 2016, ahead of the company's 2017 IPO on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. In 2018 he restructured his holding company into the De Groot Family Office, and he has co-founded companies including Veterfina (Petplan), Stadswaarde, Curie Capital, GTDC, and Switch Datacenter Development.
