He is an Honorary Lecturer in the Genomic and Pathogen Surveillance group at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health, applying machine learning to clinical microbiology and pathogen surveillance. During his PhD at Cambridge, working with the Peacock lab, the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and Illumina, he was joint first author on a New England Journal of Medicine paper using clinical whole genome sequencing to halt a neonatal MRSA outbreak in real time.
