Alexander D. Wissner-Gross is a physicist and computer scientist who founded and serves as Chief Scientist of Physical Superintelligence (PSI). He has backed and advised more than 40 technology companies, both directly and through 021T Capital and Reified. He co-hosts the Moonshots technology podcast and writes The Innermost Loop, a daily newsletter reaching more than 100,000 readers, and authored Solve Everything along with contributions to the bestsellers This Idea Must Die and What to Think About Machines That Think. His academic background includes a triple major from MIT (Physics, Electrical Science and Engineering, and Mathematics) completed in 2003 and a Ph.D. in Physics from Harvard in 2007; his research spans neuromorphic computing, machine learning, and programmable matter, including the widely cited work on causal entropic forces.
