David Kirk is a computer graphics and parallel computing pioneer with mechanical engineering degrees from MIT and a computer science PhD from Caltech. He held senior roles at NVIDIA including Chief Scientist and VP of Architecture, holds nearly 100 patents, was elected to the National Academy of Engineering, and authored a widely used parallel programming textbook while teaching as an adjunct professor at UIUC.
