Daniel C. Kurtzer is a former U.S. diplomat who served in the Senior Foreign Service until retiring in December 2005, with roles including U.S. Ambassador to Egypt, U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Intelligence and Research. He holds the S. Daniel Abraham Chair in Middle East Policy Studies at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School. He earned a BA from Yeshiva University and a PhD from Columbia University.
