Alexander E. Barkas

Alex Barkas was a co-founder of Prospect Ventures, which he established to focus on developing and commercializing biomedical technologies. He previously served as a Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, where he worked on biotechnology and medical device investing and co-founded and led several biotechnology companies, and earlier founded the healthcare consulting firm BioBridge Associates. He held a PhD in Biology from New York University and a BA in Biology from Brandeis University, with prior research experience at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children, the Whitehead Institute at MIT, and Duke University.
