Investment thesis
WestEnd Advisors bases its investment philosophy on the belief that the macroeconomic environment is the key driver of financial market returns. Its investment team develops an outlook from ongoing analysis of over 200 macroeconomic data series, then allocates to sectors and areas of the market expected to benefit from macroeconomic tailwinds over the next six to eighteen months, while underweighting or avoiding areas facing headwinds. The approach, first developed in 1996 and implemented with ETFs since 2005, aims to build portfolios aligned with the evolving macroeconomic backdrop to deliver alpha throughout the economic cycle. WestEnd manages equity securities for individual, institutional, and wrap clients.
