UvA Ventures Holding is the technology-transfer arm of the University of Amsterdam, established to separate publicly and privately funded activities originating at the university. It brings university expertise and scientific innovation to market by founding or participating in companies, supporting the university's valorization goals. Its portfolio spans three categories: contract research, services, and new ventures. The new ventures team supports academics with governance matters and with raising financing to develop their ideas, and also manages equity stakes. Beyond UvA, it provides governance, finance and control, management, and advisory services to companies of Amsterdam UMC Ventures Holding and HvA Ventures Holding, the holdings of Amsterdam UMC and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
