Investment thesis
U Ventures supports technology-based startups from Colombian universities that aim to transform key industries for national development. Through a four-month program of masterclasses, workshops, virtual content, and one-on-one mentorship requiring roughly 16 hours per week, it helps founders turn ideas into validated business models and prepares them for investment. On average about three startups per cohort may receive funding, though investment is not guaranteed. The program targets life sciences and health, financial inclusion, sustainability, education, and creative industries (entertainment, culture, tourism), with deep tech treated as a cross-cutting enabler across all sectors. The initial cohort is open exclusively to the Antioquia university community.
