Investment thesis
SENPRENDE is a Honduran government agency supporting entrepreneurs and micro, small and medium enterprises. Through its AGROEMPRENDE program, run with the rural development foundation FUNDER, it channels public funds as credit to small agricultural producers—financing basic grains (corn, beans, rice), coffee, cacao, livestock, vegetables, tubers, fruit, tilapia, shrimp and salt across 16 departments. The initiative began as relief for grain producers affected by the 2019 El Niño and later expanded to cover pandemic and storm recovery. It has disbursed L.314.7 million across 812 loans, aiming to strengthen national food security and rural livelihoods.
