Mia Smith has served as Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise since September 2021. She previously held the role of Chief Commercial Officer at the University of Strathclyde, where she was part of the Executive Team and worked on economic development projects including the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland and the Glasgow City Innovation District, and earlier spent sixteen years at Scottish Enterprise leading business support functions such as account management, entrepreneurship development, and R&D and innovation support. She has also served as a trustee of Glasgow Science Centre and its Endowment Fund and as a board member of Opportunity North East.
