Investment thesis
Power Angels aims to make Japan a startup powerhouse by fostering a culture of entrepreneurial challenge through angel investing. It seeks to overturn the notion that angel investing is purely high-risk/high-return by applying experience, networks, and systematized processes to improve repeatability and success rates. Its hybrid 'seed x later' strategy spreads risk and shortens time horizons so investing remains sustainable rather than draining investors over the usual 5-10 year path to returns. The community introduces curated startups across stages: U25 pre-VC founders, seed/early deals VCs lead, and later-stage companies 1-3 years from IPO. It also runs an angel-investing 'driving school' with knowledge resources, practical co-investing, and founder-investor social gatherings.
