nine21
Family officeGrowth
Investment thesis
nine21 invests exclusively the private wealth of an entrepreneurial family, with no external investors, fund vehicles, or fixed holding periods. It pursues two strategies: direct majority stakes in established, profitable SMEs in the DACH region (typically from EUR 2M EBITDA), focused on succession situations, carve-outs, and MBO/MBI, acting as an active shareholder rather than operational manager; and LP commitments to selected European small- and mid-cap buyout funds, plus selective special-situations and value strategies, and minority stakes in search funds. Early-stage venture, growth equity, and turnaround cases are explicitly out of scope. The firm emphasizes independence, reliability, discretion, and long-term ownership.
