Investment thesis
Flashbots aims to enable a permissionless, transparent, and sustainable MEV ecosystem through a three-pronged approach: illuminating MEV activity to reduce information asymmetry, democratizing access via open platforms, and enabling sustainable distribution of residual MEV. It operates dual engines of product and research, building core block-production infrastructure such as MEV-Boost, BuilderNet, rbuilder, Rollup-Boost, Protect RPC, and MEV-Share, while running an open research process (FRPs) funded through MEV Fellowship Grants. Its work targets preventing centralization of block production on Ethereum and rollups, protecting users from frontrunning, and combating the centralizing forces of exclusive order flow.
