Investment thesis
First Venture invests across three megatrends — technology, health, and sustainability — believing digital technology drives progress in health and sustainability. It targets companies at the bottom of the 'Valley of Death', where financing is scarce but competition is low and potential value growth is higher. The firm invests in both unlisted and listed Swedish growth companies, typically taking minority stakes while emphasizing strong founder ownership. In private companies it engages actively through board seats and coaching to accelerate growth, ideally toward an IPO within three years. It integrates sustainability and ESG analysis (including UN Global Compact principles) into every investment, acting as a long-term, active owner.
