Investment thesis
ACTIVA-CATIE runs recurring seed-capital calls (this being the seventh) aimed at promoting productive development, financial inclusion, and business capacity building, with a focus on sectors traditionally excluded by the formal financial system. Priority goes to rural Costa Rican companies that are legally constituted SMEs (PyMES) or small/medium agricultural producers (PyMPA), including legally formed associative models such as consortiums and cooperatives. Selected businesses receive non-dilutive seed capital plus preparatory support and mentoring, with amounts ranging from roughly ₡7-8 million for consolidation-stage firms, up to ₡15 million for expansion-stage firms, and up to ₡8 million for associative models.
