Warren Shawn Carbonell is a founder and scientist who left a neurosurgery residency to develop a brain cancer therapeutic targeting integrins, raising $20 million to build a biotech company. His lead drug candidate completed Phase I clinical trials, and the integrin discovery was awarded the 2022 Lasker Prize. Beyond his primary venture, Carbonell has established a brain cancer nonprofit, launched a biotech VC fund, built a social media following, and contributed to community and event programming across multiple organizations.

Monica Berrondo is founder and managing partner of Dare Bioventures, a venture capital firm focused on biotech and drug discovery innovation. Previously, she co-founded and led Macromoltek, a computational drug discovery company that worked with pharmaceutical and biotech partners on biologic drug design. Berrondo has mentored early-stage healthcare and biotech founders on fundraising, product development, and go-to-market strategy.
