During two decades at Anglo American, he led the team that delivered the Minas-Rio capital project, and his career includes a US$6 billion divestment and over US$5 billion in debt restructuring at CEMIG, a US$1.4 billion greenfield bauxite project in Guinea, and the restart of a nickel sulphide operation in Brazil with Appian Capital. More recently, he oversaw the restart and ramp-up of a lithium operation in Argentina.

Prior to joining Appian nine years ago, he led or contributed to more than 200 studies and reviews across North and South America, Africa, Indonesia, Russia and Australia, serving as a Competent/Qualified Person under NI 43-101 and JORC for commodities including gold, silver, diamonds, copper, nickel and zinc.

Lucas Sarto is Vice-President, Integrated Planning at Appian Capital Advisory, where he oversees strategic planning, PMO, and FP&A across the firm's global portfolio. Richard Clark is Vice President of Tailings at Appian Capital Advisory LLP, a London-based private equity firm investing in mining assets, where he conducts technical due diligence on mining projects and supports portfolio companies in tailings management and dam safety. Victoria Tweedie is a Senior Resource Geologist at Appian Capital Advisory, where she evaluates mining companies and assets across the investment cycle, providing technical due diligence and analysis of geology, mineral resources, mine plans and operational performance across multiple commodities and jurisdictions.
