Investment thesis
ALPHA invests in startups that harness distinctly Japanese strengths or address uniquely Japanese challenges to create global impact. Its thesis spans three themes: Culture × Global (Japanese craft, food, deep-tech and content aimed at world markets), Structural Challenges (technologies tackling aging, labor shortages, energy and climate issues), and Next-gen Industry (AI, robotics, healthcare and security from infrastructure layers to applications). The firm pursues a co-creation model where experienced capitalists run alongside founders, provides hands-on support in strategy, team-building and operations, and invests with a long-term horizon alongside mainly institutional LPs. It backs companies from seed to later stages and actively makes follow-on investments.
