How do I get a warm intro to a VC?

A warm intro is an introduction to an investor from someone whose judgment they trust — most powerfully a founder they have backed. It works because it transfers a sliver of credibility that a cold email lacks: someone with reputation at stake vouched.

The reliable path is through portfolio founders: find companies the target firm backed, reach the founders you have a genuine connection to, and earn the forward. That said, cold outreach with real traction and a specific reason for that investor converts far better than folklore suggests — several notable firms publicly read cold inbound.
