Does cold outreach to investors work?
Cold outreach is contacting an investor with no introduction. It converts at low rates but is far from useless: a short, specific note — what you build, why it is working (numbers), and why this investor specifically — is read at most funds, and some firms explicitly cultivate cold inbound.
Personalization is the entire game: reference the investor's actual thesis, portfolio, or writing. A hundred targeted emails to the right partners beat a thousand generic ones; the research burden is the moat.
