Form ADV is the registration and disclosure filing investment advisers make with the SEC: assets under management, ownership, clients, fee practices, and disciplinary history. Its brochure (Part 2A) describes strategy and conflicts in plain language.

Venture firms appear as registered advisers or exempt reporting advisers, either way filing ADV data — making it a primary public source on firms' scale and structure.
